This volunteer is excited to get started.

Judge Lucia Bates, Precinct 3 Place 2, held a food drive today at her courthouse in Baytown.  So many were not sure because of the weather, but when God has his hands on something, there is nothing that can stand in the way.  She stood firm and did not cancel her food drive despite the weather.  Guess what?  The clouds opened up, and she was able to feed over 900 families today.  Yes, that’s right over 900 families.  It is a blessing for someone to care so much about her community to make this happen.

So many volunteers came out to help.  No complaints, just people with good hearts wanting to help where ever they can.  As we all experience the pandemic of COVID-19, others can still take the time to give back.  Judge bates even had the support of Mayor Brandon Capetillo and Councilman Charles Johnson.  This shows how the community will come out to support each other.
