I had the pleasure of attending the Women’s Breakfast at The Woodlands Resort hosted by Impact Church (Pastor Roche Coleman). Dr. Andrenetta Marshall was the speaker, and she delivered a dynamic message on “Press your way.” She referred to 3 ladies in the bible on how they pressed through their circumstances.

She shared her story of how she was asked to make a change at an elementary school in a low-income area of Houston. She walked in and almost made a quick u-turn out the door. She even received calls from others asking her why is she there and did she know what she was doing. After conversations with a mentor and remembering messages from her father, she decided that she had God in her corner. Because of her faith, she remembered the story of the women, and she pressed through. “PRESS PRESS PRESS” is what she said.

Dr. Marshall pressed through to do what needed to be done for those kids. Living in a low-income area does not mean they should not get the best. We laughed as she stated how she talked trash, then once she got to her car, she said, “God, I need your help.”

As entrepreneurs and professionals, we must do the same when facing challenges. Sometimes we feel like we can’t go any further or things will not change. An entrepreneur has it’s challenges, but we have to “Press” our way through to get it done. Sometimes it may feel like you have hit a brick wall and press your way through.

I am genuinely grateful for having the opportunity to hear Dr. Marshall share this message of “Pressing Through .”Just like she pressed through and did not walk away from those kids and tried to create something different than their normal. She was determined to show them something different, and there was another way.

We should all follow the leadership of Dr. Marshall and Press your way through and not stop just because we do not see the immediate solution or see a challenge that seems like we are not the one to accomplish the tasks. We will all be placed in situations we did not plan for.  Press your way through, and know that God got you.
